Expanding Use of Restorative Practice
Friday, August 8, 2025 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
If you have been using Restorative Practice principles in your work and want to help expand its utilization throughout your grade level, department, school or district, this workshop will provide you with the tools to assess where you and your colleagues are and what steps need to be taken to move toward greater integration in the daily life of your community.
Restorative Practice helps to foster strong relationships, encourages students to take ownership for their learning and provides protocols to address harm when it occurs. Restorative Practice supports the overarching goal of strengthening school climate by changing mindsets, building community and repairing relationships. In a restorative school, relationships are fostered with the same emphasis as academic skills.
Those who utilize these principles in their practice develop a range of options that help prevent and/or consistently respond to incidents of inappropriate behavior while enhancing the academic experience for all by limiting interruptions and strengthening respect among peers.
Experience has shown that a team approach works best for building and maintaining such an initiative. Throughout the course of the day, individuals or teams who attend will assess their current climate and culture and develop a plan utilizing a restorative approach to make improvements and to sustain these efforts.
Cost: $175.00 – limit of 30 participants.
