Everyday Restorative Practices: Language, Mindset, & In-the-Moment Tools
Restorative practices are most powerful when they become part of everyday interactions — not just something we do during circles. This practical workshop focuses on the daily language, mindset shifts, and real-time strategies that help educators respond to behavior in ways that build accountability while preserving relationships.
Participants will explore how small shifts in language and approach can dramatically improve classroom climate, reduce power struggles, and increase student ownership.
This highly practical session includes:
· Using affective statements and questions with confidence
· Understanding the Social Discipline Window (high support + high accountability)
· Restorative ways to respond to challenging behavior in the moment
· De-escalation strategies that prevent conflict from growing
· Quick repair conversations and micro-restorative practices
· Building consistency across classrooms and teams
This workshop is designed for educators who want tools they can use immediately — even in fast-paced, real-world classroom situations.
Participants will leave with scripts, sentence stems, and ready-to-use strategies for creating a more connected and accountable classroom environment.
