“Clear is Kind; Unclear is Unkind” says Brené Brown, a researcher and storyteller who's spent two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy.
Effective classroom management is key to creating a successful learning environment. One of the most effective ways for teachers to improve classroom behavior and student performance is by utilizing restorative practices. Restorative practices encourage communication, accountability, and empathy among students and teachers alike, creating a supportive and respectful learning environment.
You will come away with practices to increase staff and student voice and collaborative guideline setting strategies that will create a safe, positive learning environment for all members of the learning communities. These same strategies can be used to introduce, reenforce, and review academic material. You will leave with protocols to help you give your students a voice and choice in their educational experience in exchange for being accountable for their words and actions. Teachers and students establish a classroom learning environment that is safe and caring for all stakeholders.
Cost: $175.00 – limit of 30 participants.

Are you looking for ways to proactively build community, strengthen relationships, and create safe learning environments for all members of your school community? Building strong positive relationships between staff and administration, staff member and staff member, staff member and students, and students and students is possible using restorative practices. Individual staff or groups of staff are encouraged to attend to acquire basic understanding of the processes and to formulate implementation plans.
Restorative practices provide students and caring adults with an intentional, inclusive, and respectful way of thinking about, talking about, and responding to behavioral and other interpersonal issues. When integrated in a school community, restorative practices help to build and repair relationships, prioritize student agency, and de-emphasize punitive discipline in favor of communication to resolve conflict.
Cost: $175.00 – limit of 30 participants.
